30,000 ft. view: The situation is much better at present. Things came to a major head in November when I bought myself a Birthday/Christmas/Bonus Check present in the form of an XBox 360. She threatened to kick me out and I called her bluff, fully intending to proceed with divorce, if that's what it took. She broke down and cried, and after reconciling, the situation has been much better as far as my freedom is concerned.
I haven't abused it, and things are going fairly well.
